Looks like you’ve been very productive all round. I love the pots and photos - the after glow of a good workshop is certainly there. I must be the only person who has tried 3 times to establish Erigeron without success!

Fear not you are not alone in your misery- I too have tried countless times and failed 🤷🏽‍♀️

I hadn’t realised so many people found Erigeron hard to get going - maybe it just loves our garden?! I’d buy another pot and just leave it somewhere to do its own thing 🤞🏻

LOVE the swishy stoneware!! 🤎🤍🤎🤍

Thanks! I’m pretty happy with them - have sold some already locally, but have given up on the website for this evening! x

The mediterranean garden looks lovely! Erigeron? Practically a weed here, despite its obvious utility and beauty.

Vanessa Simpson's avatar

I suspect many would call it a weed here - but I love it.

Thanks for the tip about Erigeron. That's my kind of gardening...the kind that does itself x 👍 🌸

Ouch! Mine seem to be being eaten by slugs (usually they go for the lupins etc.) ...

Have a lovely weekend.

Love love your pots!

Don’t get me started on erigeron 😩 I love it but it does not love me! Any tips to win her over?

Vanessa Simpson's avatar

Oh - and Erigeron doesn’t much like being transplanted I think, my win was buying one in a pot and it just sort of did everything itself.

Sara Santa Clara's avatar

Oh I see. I tried sowing it as I haven’t been able to find it on sale. Maybe it’s not for me 😞

Vanessa Simpson's avatar

Ah - give it another go, it will bring you untold joy if successful! x

Vanessa Simpson's avatar

Oh thank you! I’m pretty happy with them - now itching to recreate but my kiln definitely needs new elements etc 😬😬

I can totally see perennial geraniums edging that hydrangea garden. It would fill in the front nicely. The pots you took out of your kiln are lovely. Have a good weekend!

Thanks Anna, following The Garden Witch’s suggestion I’ve just googled Epimedium which looks nice too - I’ll no doubt ponder this for the rest of the summer and then it will be too late 😂

Garden Witch's avatar

Such gorgeous photographs, you are amazingly talented. Also, what about something like an epimedium underneath the hydrangas? Could be a bit different?

Vanessa Simpson's avatar

Just had to look it up - thanks - it’s very delicate so might work beautifully. Will ponder on….! x

Fiona's avatar

Everything is looking beautiful Vanessa - hydrangeas, daisies, pots - all of it reflecting your creativity and hard work 👏🏻💕 I’m not sure about perennial geraniums but neither can I think of what else would be better 🤷🏻‍♀️ xx

Vanessa Simpson's avatar

Maybe I’ll just make a collection of Dachshund gnomes beneath them instead 🤣

Fiona's avatar

Well now you’re talking 🤣🤣

Beware of the perennial geranium, they can spread like mad and might detract from the lovely hydrangeas.

How gorgeous your garden looks. And beautifully captured. Geraniums always look so fab at Chelsea and I’ve bought them frequently in past years but somehow they often turn out to be a little underwhelming in our garden- I suspect they just need more tlc though. Wishing you a lovely weekend. Xxx

PS I’m a fellow erigeron adorer!

Vanessa Simpson's avatar

I fear many of my plants need a bit more tlc! One of my baby dahlias got eaten by the lawnmower this week 🙈😭

Love the ox-eye daisies - I have a plan to plant them prolifically along our outside wall having seen some locally and been inspired….mustn’t forget to order seeds1

Vanessa Simpson's avatar

Or just wait a few weeks and I can save seeds for you! We did an autumn sowing two years ago and repeated in the spring - it took a while to get anything going. Hopefully they’ll be more of the other wildflowers in due course. x

A lovely read again and you can hear how much you enjoyed last week in your flow! I love your Erigeron and would love to beg some from you so it can start spreading here too ?!

I plan to venture into the garden this weekend too if time permits… will see what awaits me!

Vanessa Simpson's avatar

Oh I’ll bring some up for you when we come in July! But be warned - you do need to ‘really’ love it! Xx

What a positive week!

And now I’m exhausted 😂

Gorgeous pots! ✨️🥰

I think sweating profusely in the name of beauty is perfectly acceptable Vanessa! As they say here and have done for centuries, 'Il faut souffrir pour être belle!'

What a pity the alliums didn't take, maybe you could just wait until the Erigeron has found its way to under the Hydrangea too, and when you're sure you have sufficient please send me some too! I couldn't get rid of it in Ireland... here though????

Hoping your week ahead is as delightful as the one just past! xx
