I think you deserved a good week after recent problems Vanessa… this was a gorgeous read and I’m not ashamed to say, I am wholly envious of the half hour swinging in summer warmth and light with your book - bliss! X

Susie, I think you probably need a portable hammock tucked into your backpack for opportune moments on the hill! Xx

How lovely to hear your voice, I do miss you and it would be so lovely to ‘pop by’ for coffee! Love pizza night, home made all the way… red onion marmalade, goats cheese and spinach is our fave!🍕

Vanessa, your chronicle was a lovely way to start my day, thank you. As you recorded an audio version today, I decided to listen instead of reading. It was so nice to hear your voice it was like having you in the room with me.

Your flowers look beautiful, Vanessa. I love the wooden garden room - I want one!

It's funny that you tried porcelain - I also had an encounter with porcelain last week. I attended a workshop and attempted to hand-build with it... Total disaster! Not for me, porcelain 🤷🏽‍♀️. You seem to have a good handle on it, though! That bowl! I'm super impressed - well done! I look forward to seeing more of your porcelain creations 😊

It’s such a weird material isn’t it? I’m not sure it’s something I’ll pursue now, though it was fun to try, I feel as though it’s a sort of relationship that probably develops over time…..🤔 The garden room is just such a lovely spot, and yesterday we bought some plants for it - photos next week! Xx

It's very very odd... plastic, almost. Not really pleasant, I found (shameless plug: I write a bit more about it in my next post, hopefully out on Monday 😉). As you say, though, maybe it's an acquired taste, who knows? But I imagine that, at least in my small studio, it would require a cleaning operation of colossal proportions to avoid "contamination" with other clay - rather unlikely 😂.

Am looking forward to photos of garden room!

Ha! Likewise - the practicalities of using it alongside other materials are beyond me! Will look forward to reading about your experiences tomorrow. Xx

This was such a lovely listen Vanessa ☺️ I am so grateful to people who offer audio, as I am prone to headaches/migraines and need to limit my screen time. Thank you 🙏🧡

Your pizza sounds delicious! I’m also listening to Beth Kemptons Kokoro at the moment, so beautiful. I recently listened to Bittersweet by Susan Cain which is also great. 🧡

I highly recommend roasted fennel and chorizo - it was delicious. Kokoro is so good that I’m sort of savouring it, will need to listen more than once for sure. Hope you’re having a lovely weekend. Xx

Home baked pizza all the way!

We too have nothing planned for the weekend which I’m pleased about after a busy week! I plan to watch as much Glastonbury as possible and be thankful for my comfy bed at the end of the evening. 🤣 xx
